Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 Will Get Unreleased Snapdragon 985 5G Chip

All forecast reports prove that the foldable market will grow largely in the coming years. So it’s logical that the current players in this niche have never stopped working on new devices. When saying this, we mean Samsung first of all. According to Vietnamese media The Pixel, Samsung is set to introduce its foldable device in 2023 with some significant changes. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 could include an all-new processor based on the 4nm process and even have a built-in S-Pen slot like the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The test version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 runs on a new processor called the Qualcomm Snapdragon 985 5G. It is based on a 4-nm process. This is the first time we’ve heard about this chipset, and the semiconductor manufacturer has yet to officially announce it.

The Pixel report contradicts an earlier report by ET News, which revealed that the Z Fold 5 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

In addition, we heard that the smartphone will become slightly thicker (6.5 mm instead of 6.3 mm) and will weigh slightly more than its predecessor. The device will also feature an S-Pen slot, which likely accounts for the increased weight and thickness.

Much earlier, we learned that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 would have a triple camera with a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN3 sensor and a 12-megapixel front camera. Other details about the smartphone still remain unknown. Like every year, Samsung should unveil a new foldable device at the Galaxy Unpacked event in August.

The Latest Display By Samsung Won’t Debut With Galaxy S23 Series

Today, at CES 2023, Samsung introduced the latest ultra-bright UDR 2000 OLED screen – the peak brightness reaches 2200 cd/sq.m. This caused tons of rumors as the new Galaxy S23 phones will debut it.

However, insider Ahmed Qwaider denied these rumors, saying that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will use an AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1750 cd/sq.m. The same was said by another well-known tipster, Ice Universe.
