Motorola announced two new smartphones, the Moto G Stylus (2023) and the Moto G 5G (2023), yesterday. These low-cost devices have a range of features, including larger screens, faster refresh rates, and updated cameras.
Moto G Stylus (2023)
The Moto G Stylus (2023) comes with a MediaTek Helio G85 CPU, 4GB of memory + 64GB of storage, up to 1TB microSD expansion and Android 13 pre-installed.
The Moto G Stylus (2023) will go on sale in the United States on Friday (5 May). The starting price for the 4GB+128GB 2022 model is $300.
The Moto G Stylus (2023) has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. This handset also features a water-resistant construction, a 5000mAh battery with 15W charging compatibility, a 3.5mm headphone jack next to the bottom USB-C port, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a fingerprint scanner on the side.
On the rear, we have a 50MP primary camera (f/1.8 aperture, 0.64m pixels, binned at 1.28m, capable of 1080p @ 30fps video recording) and a 2MP macro lens, while on the opposite side, we can find an 8MP selfie camera (capable of 1080p @ 30fps video recording).
Moto G 5G (2023)
The Moto G 5G (2023) supports sub-6GHz 5G networks and is powered by a Snapdragon 480+ CPU. In comparison, the Moto G 5G (2020) uses the Snapdragon 750G chip, while the Moto G 5G (2022) uses the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip. In terms of performance improvements, the Snapdragon 480+ is not very impressive.
On 25 May, the Moto G 5G (2023) will be available for $250.
Apart from the Snapdragon 480+ CPU, there is also 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, a microSD card for expansion up to 1TB, and the Android 13 system pre-installed.
The Moto G 5G (2023) has a 6.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 (20:9) and a refresh rate that has been increased from 90Hz to 120Hz.
This device is waterproof, 8.4mm thick, and weighs 189g. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom near the USB-C port, supports 15W charging, a 5000mAh battery, data transfer (USB 2.0), and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos compatibility.
Moto G 5G (2023) comes with a 48MP main camera (f/1.7 aperture, 0.8 million raw pixels, 1.6 million binned, 1080p@30fps video recording), 2MP depth, and 2MP macro lenses. There is an 8MP selfie camera (f/2.0, 1.12m, 1080p@30fps video recording).
