According to well-known whistleblower Tom Henderson, Sony is working on the PS5 Pro version, which will be delivered towards the end of 2024, and the development kit will be sent to developers soon.
Henderson stated in March that Sony was working on a PS5 Pro version, claiming that the host would be comparable to the PS4 Pro version but with increased performance. At the time, he wrote a post on the Insider Gaming, but provided no additional specifics.
Henderson has subsequently stated that Sony is working on further new gear, such as a Q-Lite portable, a PS5 Slim version, and others. However, none of this new hardware has been officially confirmed by Sony. So Henderson’s information may not be correct.

Henderson published an article on Insider Gaming today, stating that the PS5 Pro version is being developed internally by Sony and that the development kit will be sent to first-tier studios in the coming months and to third-tier studios by the end of this year.
Henderson’s piece finishes with a reaffirmation of the PS5 Pro’s release date: Q4 2024.
“Insider Gaming can report with a 100% degree of certainty that the PlayStation 5 Pro is currently in development,” Henderson writes in his post. ” Whilst we cannot report on any more specifics at this time, we understand that the first dev kit prototypes will be going to 1st party developers within the next couple of months, with 3rd party developers receiving them by the end of the year.”
We advise everyone to be careful in light of these claims and speculations. Henderson, on the other hand, has already proved to be fairly trustworthy in his discoveries. Sony’s PS4 Pro version was published three years after the original PS4 release, in 2016, and the current PS5 edition (digital and disc) was released in November 2020.
