Most people would undoubtedly think of Acer’s various PC machines when they first hear the name. However, this time, Acer has come up with a new trick by releasing an electric-assisted bicycle, the ebii.
The Acer ebii has a sleek design, a sturdy and small aluminum alloy frame, cool white and grey paint, a transparent headlight, and an LED panel in the center of the handlebars that can display data such as ride status, battery life, and destination.
The wheelset features a robust single-sided front fork design, a single 250/350W motor, a 48V CAN bus controller area network, 40Nm of torque, and a top speed of 25km/h.
Solid run-flat tires are constructed from closed-cell recyclable materials and multi-layer foam inserts. No lubrication or maintenance is required thanks to the anti-rust carbon fiber drive belt.
The Acer ebii features a state-of-the-art modular design. The battery pack and controller are housed in the exquisite, intelligent vehicle control compartment, which is convenient for charging, battery removal and installation, repairs, and upgrades.
MPS Energy’s removable battery can be fully charged in approximately 2.5 hours and has a battery life of up to 110 kilometers. It also includes technology to optimize the power configuration, a unique structural design, and a battery holder for safety.
The headlights and rear lights come on automatically in low light conditions, and the additional lighting in the bottom of the control panel can improve visibility at night. If an object or vehicle approaches from behind, the Rear Collision Warning system’s radar sensor under the seat gives an immediate warning. Thanks to crash detection and health status functions, the route can always be changed according to the vehicle’s condition.
It also combines big data, AI and Xplova’s bicycle computing technology, which can adjust based on the rider’s pedal force, road conditions and desired level of assistance. The controller automatically modifies the motor output to match the rider’s pedaling power and the route. The experience becomes more intelligent and personalized the more you use it.
The ebiiGO app can be used at any time to check the suggested route, battery life, riding speed, automatic unlocking settings, etc.
Three modes of operation are available through the ebiiRide app, including the power-saving Eco mode, the intelligent and balanced. My ebii mode and the Boost mode, which adjusts the speed and engine power according to road conditions and distance.
Pricing and availability of the ebii have not been disclosed by Acer.
