Leica announced today that it had expanded its mobile imaging optical system solution with Xiaomi, which will be used in the Xiaomi Mi 13 Ultra. The latter is set to hit the market as soon as this month.
Leica said that, in collaboration with Xiaomi, it had provided a further update of the mobile imaging optical system solution, as well as Leica’s most ideal Summicron lens to date in the field of mobile photography. Various mobile phone lenses, ranging from wide-angle to telephoto, have consistently achieved great optical performance. It can be described as “the coming-of-age ritual of mobile imaging”.

Prior to this, we learned that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra would come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship chipset and a 6.7-inch Samsung AMOLED LTPO E6 display with QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
The device is also rumored to include several camera sensors on the back, including a 50MP primary camera with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and two 50MP telephoto lenses. The selfie shooter will have a 32MP resolution. Most importantly, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will feature a Leica Summicron lens, which has the ability to minimize reflectivity while increasing light transmission, reducing glare and eliminating purple fringing.
Other than that, the device will offer 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage capacity, although there may not be a 1TB version. It will be packed with a 4900mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging and 50W wireless charging and will run the Android 13-based MIUI 14 system.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has already received three certifications. So we can assume that it is ready to launch. Xiaomi should start promoting this handset in the coming days.
