Redmi has officially announced that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will be released on 28 March. As the name suggests, it will have a higher positioning than the much more powerful Pro version in the series. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip.
With the launch date just around the corner, it’s only logical that the company is stepping up its promotion of the upcoming handset. Today, for example, we learned that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will come with dual stereo speakers, spatial audio, Dolby Vision, Hi-Res double gold standard, etc. Put simply, it will be very powerful in terms of audio performance.
The new handset will also feature an ultra-thin quad-narrow-edge design with no bezel. This means that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has done away with the plastic frame. At the same time, the phone uses a 2.22mm narrower chin, which is narrower than the iPhone 14 (the four bezels are the same 2.4mm), the top bezel is 1.95mm and the side bezel is 1.42mm. The result is a higher screen-to-body ratio of 93.4%.
Previously, we heard that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo would be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip, which uses the same process architecture as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The second-generation Snapdragon 7+’s Qualcomm Kryo CPU has a maximum clock speed of 2.91GHz and a performance improvement of more than 50%. At the same time, the performance of the Qualcomm Adreno GPU is increased by a factor of 2. The second-generation Snapdragon 7+ also achieves up to a 13% improvement in overall system power efficiency.
The Redmi Note 12 Turbo also uses Super Diffusion VC. The Note series has a maximum gaming grade VC area of 3725mm². With the addition of diversion grooves, the VC’s heat dissipation capacity is increased by 35%.
Our protagonist also comes with nine flagship-level structural protections, four corners reinforced design, hardened back cover, Corning Gorilla Glass, motherboard mounting reinforcement steel sheet, key chip silicone pad support, etc. The software failure rate is only 0.005%. What’s more, there will be a 16GB+1TB memory version.
The screen will also boast a 12-bit 68.7 billion color / 100% P3 wide color gamut, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and SGS low blue light certification.
The body of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo phone is as thin as 7.9mm and as light as 181g. It has a built-in 5000mAh battery that lasts for 1.33 days.
