The next mid-range smartphone from Google will be the Pixel 7a. There is every reason to believe that the phone will be unveiled at the I/O 2023 conference in May. However, as usual, we have news about its appearance and specifications ahead of the launch. Today, the phone was leaked in spy photos published by Zing.
From the photos, we can see that the Google Pixel 7a uses the same camera bar design as the Pixel 7. Also, the camera bump is made of matte aluminum instead of glass to make it more durable. Otherwise, the photos confirm that Google has not reduced the width of the bezels around the screen of the device.
The back of the phone uses a glass material that adds value to its appearance and gives it the look of a premium smartphone.
There is no official information yet, but we assume that the Google Pixel 7a will keep the same 6.1-inch screen size as the previous generation. The refresh rate will be increased to 90Hz. According to the information in the phone’s About and Boot menus, the phone will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. By comparison, the Pixel 6a only has 6GB of RAM.
Other details confirmed from the hands-on photos include a single physical SIM card slot, rubber protection around the SIM card slot for an IP rating, a speaker on the bottom, and a USB-C port. Google remotely locked the phone shortly after the image was shared online, making it difficult to determine the phone’s other specifications. However, according to previous leaks, the Google Pixel 7a should come with a Tensor G2 chip. However, if Samnews24 is to be believed, this phone will use an Exynos G5300 processor.
It should support 15W wireless charging. The rear camera should have a resolution of 64MP and use the Sony IMX787 CMOS. It will be paired with a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens. The phone will keep the same price of $450 as the previous generation.
