Xiaomi knows how to make good projectors. This company has launched a number of laser projectors. But it did this not only under its own brand but through its sub-brands, such as Mijia, XGIMI, etc. Today, the latter released a new projector dubbed the XGIMI Play 2. It’s available for pre-order for 2,099 yuan ($302). As the price hints, it’s an affordable model. But let’s see what features it comes with.
The XGIMI Play 2 has 300CCB lumens of brightness, which is 99% brighter than the previous generation product. It is developed according to the film color brightness standard. The strict standard plus the DLP projection imaging principle can project a 120-inch image.
At the same time, this projector supports automatic keystone correction, intelligent obstacle avoidance, screen alignment, and automatic focusing functions. It also has a diffuse reflection imaging design, and soft imaging is more eye-friendly.
When it comes to the audio performance, the XGIMI Play 2 has a 110% larger audio cavity than the previous generation and a 166% larger maximum power in the audio mode. The XGIMI Play 2 has a larger bass diaphragm design, which can obtain better bass depth. So when watching movies, it will provide much better sound quality.
In addition, the XGIMI acoustics team (X-SOUND) has developed a variety of sound effects modes for the Play 2. The AI algorithm automatically identifies the playback content to match the appropriate sound effects, including music, movies, sports, karaoke and other scenes, bringing a more professional audio-visual experience.
The XGIMI play 2 projector comes with a Type-C power supply. Thus, you can use a power bank to charge it and project a large screen. It also supports wireless projection, 3D video, AI voice recognition, and other functions. Lastly, the rest of the interfaces include USB, HDMI, and 3.5mm audio jack.
