Honor Magic 5 Pro Highlights
The series adopts a design inspired by the black hole in the center of the galaxy. It has a curvature on both sides. At the same time, the Honor Magic 5 Pro supports IP68, dustproof and waterproof.
The lineup has a total of 5 colors – Brown Blue, Tundra Green, Coral Purple, Burnt Orange, and Glossy Black.
The Honor Magic 5 Pro is equipped with a 6.81-inch 120Hz OLED screen with a global peak brightness of 1300nit and a local peak brightness of 1800nit. Delta E is approximately equal to 0.27. It supports up to 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. At the same time, the screen of the Honor Magic 5 Pro won first place in the DXOMARK screen benchmark. It is the first smartphone certified by Rhine Rhythm. This screen supports dual-brightness color calibration technology, and second-generation light-gathering technology, which significantly improves the brightness of the screen. In simple terms, the screen can still display content under strong light. There is an independent display chip that greatly improves the viewing effect of HDR video and sports video.
In terms of imaging, the Honor Magic 5 Pro uses a triple-lens system: a 50-megapixel wide-angle main camera lens with a 1/1.12-inch super-outsole sensor and an f/1.6 super-large aperture to bring more light and better image quality; 50-megapixel periscope telephoto main camera, which supports up to 100x digital zoom; 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle main camera, supports 122° super-wide viewing angle, 2.5cm super macro. Also, it supports the newly upgraded telephoto fusion computational optics technology. The latter brings support for a 3.5x-100x telephoto focal length.
For selfies, the Honor Magic 5 Pro has a front-facing 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.4 aperture) + a 3D deep-sensing camera that supports 3D face recognition.
There is a new Honor Eagle Eye camera, which can detect objects at the hardware level, respond to events at the millisecond level, and upgrade the image cache accurately.
It is worth mentioning that the Honor Magic5 Pro also won the first place in the DXOMARK camera ranking, with a total score of 152 points.
The Honor Magic 5 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processing platform, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 flash storage. It is the first in the industry to realize low-power gesture operation in the air on the Snapdragon mobile platform, without the need for fingers to touch the screen.
The phone also sports a 5100mAh battery, which supports 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
We should also mention that this is the world’s first handset to use silicon-carbon anode battery technology to achieve greater battery capacity under the same volume. The battery capacity of the long-endurance version of the Honor Magic5 Pro will reach 5450mAh. But we have no info on when this variant goes on sale.
The Honor Magic 5 Pro runs the Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 system. In other aspects, the phone comes with a built-in OS Turbo X, which can optimize application startup and response speed, GPU Turbo X super frame rate enhancement brings a higher frame rate and lower temperature; LINK Turbo X engine, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth antenna design, dual TEE security system + independent security memory chip, newly upgraded Smart Privacy Call 2.0, etc.
Honor Magic 5 Key Features
As for the standard version of the Honor Magic 5, it comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processing platform, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 flash storage. On the front, it carries a 6.78-inch OLED quad-curved screen with a 120Hz refresh rate LTPO, supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 1.07 billion color display. The front camera has a 12MP resolution, while the rear camera includes 54MP (1/1.49″) main camera + 50MP ultra-wide-angle + 32MP (50 times, OIS) periscope triple camera combination. The built-in 5100mAh battery supports 66W fast charging.
Price and Availability
The Honor Magic5 Pro 12+512GB is priced at 1,199 Euros, while the Honor Magic 5 8+256GB is priced at 899 Euros. The phones will be available in the second quarter.
