Xiaomi Civi 3 To Use Dimentisy 8200 Chip and Improved Camera

Meitu is a Chinese smartphone brand that has been focusing on selfie-centric smartphones for ladies. Also, those handsets have had unusual appearance, looking like the Vertu handsets. Anyway, it’s history. A couple of years ago, Xiaomi and Meitu signed a cooperation deal, according to which Xiaomi was allowed for the use of Meitu patents. As a result, Xiaomi started making new phones under the series of Civi. The latter already includes several models, such as the first generation of the Xiaomi Civi 1, the Xiaomi Civi 1S, and the second-gen Xiaomi Civi 2. Well, the latter was launched in September of 2022. So that’s the right time to wait for a follow-up model, the Xiaomi Civi 3.

Today, we heard the first rumors about the yet-to-come Xiaomi Civi 3. The information comes from a Weibo tipster, who is known for its accurate and reliable leaks.

As the source mentioned, the Xiaomi Civi 3 smartphone will use the MediaTek MT6896 platform. For those who are unaware, this is the code number of the chip known as the Dimensity 8200. Plus, it will have an improved 50-megapixel camera.

Xiaomi Civi 3 predecessor

At the same time, the Xiaomi Civi 3 phone’s screen will maintain Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. We also know that it ought to use a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen, just like the previous year’s model.

The current 50-megapixel sensor in Xiaomi Civi 2 is the Sony IMX766 CMOS. Instead of this, the Xiaomi Civi 3 will use the Sony IMX800 outsole main camera. The latter has been used in flagship phones such as the Xiaomi 13 and the Redmi K60 Pro. On the front, the phone will still house a dual-camera system consisting of two 32-megapixel selfie sensors.

The new Xiaomi Civi 3 phone is expected to be launched in China in April.
