In a week, Honor will announce the Honor Magic 5 series of smartphones and the global version of the Magic Vs folding screen handset at MWC 2023. The press conference is scheduled for February 27.
Before the press conference, the new Honor Magic 5 has appeared on the GeekBench benchmark platform. The model is PGT-AN00, and it is confirmed that the phone will sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Apart from this, the phone will have a 12GB memory variant and run the Android 13 system.
The Honor Magic 5 scored 1,411 points in the single-core test and 4,584 in the multi-core test. The overall score is lower than that of other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 models. But we think it will be optimized in the future.
Prior to this, we had heard that the Honor Magic 5 series would include several variants – the Honor Magic 5, Magic 5 Pro, and Magic 5 Ultimate Edition. At present, these three models have passed the TENAA certification and the national 3C quality certification. In other words, they are ready to hit the market.
According to a Weibo blogger, the new phone will also be equipped with a large single-cell battery of more than 5000mAh capacity as standard. It will provide not only a good autonomy but also support the 100W charging solution.
The Honor Magic 5 series will be released in March. The new machine uses a 1/1.1-inch main camera + a new module with a large aperture. There will also be a 50MP / 64MP secondary lens. From the TENAA photos, we have seen that it adopts the popular circular camera module design, which contains three lenses (four in the Pro version) arranged in an equilateral triangle. One of them is a periscope telephoto lens, below is the flash. The machine will support up to 100 times digital zoom.
Other than that, there will be a 6.8-inch eye-protecting flexible screen, and it will also support structured light and have an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating.
