That’s not a secret that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun’s next and the last big project is the Xiaomi Car. The latter is in the tests and if everything goes according to plans, the first vehicle by this company will hit the market as soon as next year.
In fact, the Xiaomi Car has been leaked for a few times. People have managed to capture it on the streets of Beijing. But you should understand that the car is still in the stage of a heavily camouflaged engineering test vehicle. But even from this stage, we can squeeze some useful info. For instance, there is no doubt that the car adopts a sedan shape and is equipped with a laser radar. The layout is the same as that of the Ideal L9.
It is worth noting that the vehicle in the spy photos has a very long front. It is longer than ordinary pure electric vehicles. So there is every reason to think that Xiaomi might choose pure electric and “plug-in hybrid (including extended range)” power versions.
Anyway, we should keep in mind that this is an engineering test vehicle. So everything might change in the future. Also, we can assume that the car will come with a large-size screen to create a technological atmosphere.
Just last month, there was a leak of the design renders of Xiaomi MS11 on the Internet. From the renders, we could see that the Xiaomi car is a coupe, with a closed front face, a lidar on the roof, and a headlight. The brake vents below show that the car’s sporty performance may not be weak.
The vehicle uses hidden door handles, does not use the latest electronic rearview mirror, and the roof is integrated with a canopy. It may come with frameless doors. The wheels are petal-shaped, and the middle of the wheels is clearly displayed.
