McDonald’s has been experimenting with AI-based voice bots that take orders over the phone and through the McDrive service for several years. However, some McDonald’s customers on TikTok express their displeasure and make fun of the bots when they can’t get the order right.

A viral video by @themaddivlog shows a woman trying to order vanilla ice cream. However, the order display shows that the blogger ordered two butters and four packets of ketchup. “I just want a big glass of water and a cup of ice cream,” the woman complaints. It was not possible to reach an understanding with the voice menu. So the order was canceled.

Tiktoker @That_usa_guy_ decided to order a Mountain Dew drink through a toll booth. However, the bot understood the blogger’s request as a desire to purchase “medium Coca-Cola”. For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that McDonald’s restaurants do not offer Mountain Dew. When the TikToker tried to correct the mistake with the drink, the voice bot ignored his request and continued to show the total amount of the check. The AI also ignored all the blogger’s objections, and in the end, simply passed the order to the fulfillment stage.
