OnePlus has come a long way since launching its first smartphone in 2014. At the time, it was a brand new “startup” looking to disrupt the smartphone space with affordable handsets that touted flagship specs. Now, the company launches several phones a year. Most of them are competitive but still expensive. Today, the company has expanded its business and unveiled its first Android tablet, the OnePlus Pad.
Touted as the flagship Android tablet, the OnePlus Pad offers an impressive experience when it comes to hardware and software.
The OnePlus tablet is charming and offers a unique design that features a circular camera array on the back. You get an aluminum unibody construction for the case that houses an 11.61-inch 144Hz display that supports a 7:5 aspect ratio. The company says such an approach provides more screen real estate for books, games, and websites.
Those who love watching movies will be happy to know that the OnePlus Pad offers support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, providing the best experience for both eyes and ears. At 6.54mm, it’s ultra-thin and extremely light, making it a pleasure to hold for hours. For what’s under the hood, the tablet is powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset. In its turn, the chip is paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM.
As for battery life, it’s got a 9,510mAh battery. So you should be able to use the tablet all day. Best of all, the tablet supports the company’s SuperVOOC charging. This enables charging speeds up to 67W, allowing you to charge your tablet from zero to 100% in 80 minutes.
The OnePlus Pad also has its own accessories, such as the OnePlus Stylo and OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard. They are perfect for those who want a more tactile experience with their tablets. OnePlus hasn’t revealed pricing details for the tablet or accessories.
