Currently, Huawei’s tablet series mainly include the MatePad Pro and the MatePad lineups. The tablet sizes cover 10.4 inches, 10.8 inches, 11 inches, 12.6 inches, etc. So we can say that they can meet the needs of different consumers.
Consumers who want to buy Huawei’s new entry-level tablet should wait a little more. Today, a Weibo tipster revealed that Huawei also had a new MatePad SE 10.4 model, which will come with 6GB memory and support Wi-Fi connectivity. Also, there will be two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB, priced at 1499 yuan ($221) and 1699 yuan ($251), respectively.
The Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 uses a 2K eye-protecting full-screen and runs the HarmonyOS 3 operating system. As the poster hints, the tablet should be mainly aimed at the student group. That’s why one of the selling points is the large-capacity battery that should provide a long battery life.
In April last year, Huawei launched the MatePad SE equipped with the HiSilicon Kirin 710A processor. But the upcoming Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 will replace the Kirin chip with the Snapdragon 680.
The Snapdragon 680 adopts TSMC’s 6nm process. The CPU architecture includes 4 Kryo 265 2.4GHz large cores and 4 Kryo 265 small cores. It integrates the Adreno 610 GPU. Also, the tablet comes with a support for LPDDR4X 2133MHz memory and UFS 2.2 flash storage. It is categorized as a mid-range tablet.
Looking at the features of the tablet, the Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 should be an upgraded model of the Huawei MatePad SE. For comparison, the Huawei MatePad SE uses a 10.1-inch 1080P+ screen, runs the HarmonyOS 2 system, and has 4GB of memory. Also, the 4+64GB version was priced at 1299 yuan ($192), and the 4+128GB version starts at 1499 yuan ($221).
