OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been the talk of the town for a couple of months. It’s what Google and Amazon tremble of. And this is what Microsoft sees its future in. But in fact, artificial intelligence is what humanity should scare of. For instance, a few days ago, ChatGPT successfully passed the MBA exam. Today, Engadget reported that ChatGPT prepared answers for final exams in four courses as part of a study at the University of Minnesota.
The AI passed the exams but with an average grade of C+. In another similar study, Professor Christian Tervish of the Wharton School of Business found that ChatGPT passed the business administration exam with B-/B grades.

A group of researchers from the University of Minnesota noted that ChatGPT performed well at examining basic legal rules and generalizing doctrines but failed at accurately defining the issues involved in the cases. According to Tervish of the Wharton School of Business, the chatbot did “amazingly well” with simple questions but couldn’t handle complex tasks. He even made mistakes in 6th grade math problems.
Professors from Minnesota believe that the best results from a chatbot can be obtained through customization. Wharton noted that the bot could change its answers after human help. In other words, at this stage of development, ChatGPT cannot pass the exam by itself. But students can use it to improve their answers.
Representatives of both educational institutions warned that universities should limit the use of ChatGPT to prevent cheating by students. They also recommended changing the question in a way that would discourage the use of artificial intelligence.
As for now, OpenAI has disabled it. At least, at the moment of writing this article, it wasn’t available in my country. Moreover, the company is going to launch the paid version of the chatbot.
