The Samsung Galaxy S23 series of flagship phones will be officially unleashed only in a week, on February 1. Among all the models, the one that has become the talk of the town is the Samsung Galaxy S 23 Ultra. Though there is still time before those handsets appear on the market, the Nicaraguan retail stores have already begun accepting orders. Moreover, today, the Ultra has been spotted in multiple photos and videos.

When looking at the photos shown by a Twitter user, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and S23+ seem to be indistinguishable from the S22 Ultra. But when looking more attentively, we can see narrower borders.

The memory
The rest of the leaked photos reveal that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will use a 200-megapixel main camera and support up to 8K30P video recording. Prior to this, a Weibo leakster has said that the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra would use a customized high-frequency version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Plus, it will be accompanied by LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. So the performance of these handsets will reach the ceiling in the Android camp.
By the way, LPDDR5X memory is the latest low-power memory standard for smartphones, tablets and laptops, supporting data transmission speeds up to 8533Mbps. It has a 33% faster performance than the fastest LPDDR5 memory; UFS 4.0 chips provide a sequential data read speed of up to 4200MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 2800MB/s. This is twice the speed of UFS3.1 storage, which offers sequential read speed of up to 2100MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 1200MB/s.
Samsung Galaxy S23 memory variants
Galaxy S23: 8GB+128GB,8GB+256GB
Galaxy S23+: 8GB+256GB, 8GB+512GB

The new chip
As 9to5Google reported, the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 used in the Samsung Galaxy S23 device will be called the “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.” The chip will have a CPU frequency of up to 3.36GHz, while Qualcomm’s main version chip typically runs its main X3 core at 3.2GHz.
Samsung’s custom version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is expected to carry essentially the same feature set as the chip used in the OnePlus 11 and other Android flagship devices, but optimized for Samsung phones. There were also rumors that the chip was manufactured by Samsung’s foundry rather than TSMC.
The rest of the selling points
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Standard Edition will have four colors. The 6.1-inch 2340×1080 resolution AMOLED screen will support 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a 3900mAh battery, supporting 25W wired and 10W wireless charging solutions. Also, it will support Wi-Fi 6E and have an IP68 waterproof rating.
The Samsung Galaxy S23+ will have a screen enlarged to 6.6 inches. The battery capacity has been increased to 4700mAh, while the latter will support 45W wired + 10W wireless charging. In addition, the machine will also feature a 50MP + 12MP + 10MP rear triple camera, a front 12MP lens, and run Android 13-based One UI 5.1.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will boast a 6.8-inch 3088×1440 resolution 120Hz dynamic refresh rate AMOLED screen. Its 5000mAh battery should support 45W wired + 10W wireless charging. In addition, the machine has a new breakthrough in the rear lens – it will debut the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 CMOS. Apart from this, there will also be 12MP + 10MP + 10MP sensors. The camera will support up to 8K30P video recording. Samsung has optimized and enhanced the sensor through software to achieve a 100x Space Zoom. As the video shows, Samsung also optimized the algorithm to greatly reduce the impact of jitter when zooming in 100 times.

The Samsung MX division does not allow camera sensors larger than 1/1.3 inch. The company believes that larger camera sensors will affect the overall design and basic internal structure of the smartphone. Instead of increasing the sensor size to 1 inch, the company found a way to improve its 1/1.3-inch camera sensor to improve the overall performance.
