The Xiaomi 13 series of top-end smartphones officially debuted in China last month. The devices are said to make their global debut at MWC next month. While the lineup currently consists of the vanilla Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, rumors of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra are also on the net.
Xiaomi 13 Ultra Specs and Launch Date
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently confirmed that the brand would launch the Xiaomi 13 Ultra as the main flagship device for both the Chinese and global markets. This has given rise to many rumors that the launch could take place at the MWC event. However, a popular whistleblower has published conflicting information.
According to the Weibo tipster, the OPPO Find X6 and Honor Magic 5 series will be released soon after the Chinese New Year. The latter begins on January 22. Given the length of the celebration, both lineups should debut in mid-to-late February. But the leaker is sure that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be released later.
It is unlikely that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be presented at the MWC exhibition, which starts at the end of February. However, the global release of the premium devices Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro has been confirmed. In this regard, if believing in the news found on Chinese websites, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra could be ready for release in late March or early April.
As for the currently known information about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the latter should come with a quad-camera setup. It should include a 1-inch 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 primary camera. All four cameras may have PDAF autofocus, and the main camera will likely allow for optimized suspension. It can use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and have up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 500GB/1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
