Earlier this month, OPPO released a couple of new smartphones. But as they were from the mid-range and low-end categories, only a few people paid attention to it. However, that’s not a secret that mid-rangers sell much better than top-notch products. We understand that the latter shows the company’s potential and intentions. But what really matters is which products perform well in the market. For instance, the Redmi K60 is the company’s series of top-end smartphones. But everyone knows that the Redmi Note 12 series sells way better. The same is true for all brands, including OPPO. That’s why this company has brought the newly-released OPPO A78 5G smartphone to other markets.
Today, we learned that after Malaysia, OPPO launched the new OPPO A78 5G phone in the Indian market. Not surprisingly, this model is basically equivalent to the renaming of the domestic OPPO A58 5G, but with the addition of an NFC function.
As for the selling points, the OPPO A78 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip. Also, it comes with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. At the same time, it supports microSD card expansion. Other than that, in terms of autonomy, there is a built-in 5000mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging. Lastly, it is pre-installed with the ColorOS 13 system based on Android 13.
Besides the aforementioned features, the handset sports a 6.56-inch LCD water drop screen with a screen resolution of 720p+ and a 90Hz refresh rate. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. On the rear, the OPPO A78 5G carries a dual-ring design with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The OPPO A78 5G is available in two colors—purple and black. It is currently on sale in Malaysia and India, where the price in Malaysia is 1,099 ringgit ($254).
