After much rumors and speculation, the Chinese smartphone brand iQOO has announced that it is ready to launch the iQOO Neo 7 5G in India on the 16th of February. But before the official launch, today this smartphone was found in the Geekbench database.
According to the available data sheet, the device will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset (while the Chinese Neo 7 offers the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+). By the way, this is not the first time: the same story was with Neo 6 on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was replaced with Snapdragon 870.
The Neo 7 5G tested also has 8GB of RAM and already has Android 13. As a result, the device scored 998 points in the single-core test and 3938 in the multi-core test.
iQOO Neo 7 5G in India could be the rebranded iQOO Neo 7 SE
Recently, it appears that the Neo 7 SE will be rebranded as the iQOO Neo 7 5G in the Indian market. The rumor started circulating recently and has been confirmed by several certifications.
So, if the Indian version of the iQOO Neo 7 5G is similar to the Chinese iQOO Neo 7 SE, then the phone could have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FullHD + resolution, support for a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10 + certification, and a centralized hole-punch camera.
Chinese Version iQOO Neo 7 SE
Under the hood, in addition to the Dimensity 8200, this chipset could be coupled with Mali G610 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. For power, it packs a 5,000mAh battery unit with 120W fast charging support.
In terms of optics, it can be equipped with a cluster of 3 rear cameras including a 64MP main sensor and a pair of auxiliary depth and macro sensors with 2MP each. The phone also has a 16MP selfie camera for sharper selfies and video calls.
Estimated price in India
The base model of the Chinese variant of Neo 7 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage starts at 32,750 INR (around US$ 401 ). While a leaker claims that the upcoming iQOO Neo 7 5G Indian variant is expected to start near Rs 35,000 INR (about US$ 430 ).
