The OPPO Find X5 series was announced a year ago, in the spring. It focused on the camera performance. So there is every reason to think that the upcoming OPPO Find X6 will continue using a powerful camera.
Today, a Weibo blogger showed wild photos of the forthcoming OPPO find X6 engineering machine. From the photos, we can see that the front of the machine uses a hyperboloid screen with a centered punch-hole design. At the same time, the camera module on the back has a rectangular design with a big protrusion.
The huge size of the OPPO Find X6 camera module means that it will consist of many components. Another Weibo tipster said that the series would be equipped with a 50-megapixel IMX890 main camera lens supporting OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope lens. Thus, the camera system will include three 50-megapixel sensors. All three camera lenses are all at the primary camera level. Plus, the camera will use both Hasselblad and Mariana X. So, undoubtedly, its camera will be at the top level.
Three models with three different chips
We think the handset will hit the market in the first half of the year. But there is still no special release date. However, if believing in today’s news, OPPO will release the Find X6 series after the Spring Festival. The series should include three models equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Dimensity 9200, and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chips.
Among them, the Dimensity 9200 and the second-generation Snapdragon 8 are the top 5G SoCs of MediaTek and Qualcomm, respectively. They score over 1.2 million and 1.3 million points on AnTuTu, respectively.
Specifically, the Dimensity 9200 has 1 super-large core Cortex X3 at 3.05GHz, 3 large Cortex A715 cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and 4 small Cortex A510 cores running at 1.8GHz. It is the first to use TSMC’s second-generation 4nm process.
Moreover, the Dimensity 9200 uses a new generation of 11-core GPU, Immortalis-G715. Its performance is 32% higher than the previous generation. The CPU single-core performance is 12% higher than that of the Dimensity 9000, and the multi-core performance is 10% higher.
Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon 8 is built with TSMC’s 4nm process and uses a Cortex-X3 super-core CPU with a maximum frequency of 3.2GHz, four performance cores with a maximum frequency of 2.8GHz, and three cores with a maximum frequency of 2.0GHz. The A510 efficiency core improves overall performance by 35% and energy efficiency by 40%.
In terms of GPU, the Adreno GPU performance of the second-generation Snapdragon 8 has increased by 25%, and its energy efficiency has increased by 45%.
The screen
Another selling point of the series will be the display. The standard version of the OPPO Find X6 series will use a 1.5K screen with a resolution of 2772×1240. At the same time, the high-end version will sport a 2K E6 screen provided by Samsung. Both are punch-hole screens.
It is worth noting that both the standard version and the Pro version of the Find X6 series support high-frequency dimming. The dimming frequency of the standard version is 2160Hz PWM, and the dimming frequency of the high-end version may be 1440Hz or 1920Hz.
At present, the high-frequency PWM dimming solution can effectively reduce the impact of screen flicker on the human eye. On the other hand, it also solves the problem of poor display effect of DC dimming and low brightness.
