Samsung has officially confirmed today that the upcoming premier Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on February 1, 2023. There he will showcase the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra flagship models, but recently there has been talk of news from significantly cheaper spheres as well. The Samsung Galaxy A34 and A54 models should be introduced soon after this event.
The possible appearance of both devices has already appeared on the Internet several times, but the latest ones should already be official, directly from Samsung. The well-known whistleblower Evan Blass also got to them and published them on his Twitter. Thanks to them we can get a picture of how these siblings will differ from each other.
From the pictures we can only see that the two devices are practically identical – they differ only in the design of the front camera. The more prestigious Galaxy A54 they have a hole in the display, while the Galaxy A34 uses a drop notch. In general, it can be said that the differences with their respective predecessors seem minimal, if not non-existent – at least as far as the front is concerned. On the back, however, we should have a new design for the camera module.
For convenience, let’s summarize all the information that has emerged so far on the two devices
Samsung Galaxy A54
The Galaxy A54 is expected to sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the unannounced Exynos 1380 chipset. Compared to the Samsung Galaxy A34 series, this phone will have a slight upgrade along with a 50MP main camera, and a 5100mAh battery with 25W charging. The device will also have IP67 dust/water resistance and Android 13.
Samsung Galaxy A34
The Samsung Galaxy A34 will carry almost identical specifications to its predecessor, the Galaxy A33, with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 90Hz refresh rate, and an Exynos 1280 chip. The battery of the device is expected to have a capacity of 5000mAh and support 25W charging. The camera will be equipped with a 48MP main lens camera. The phone will likely launch Android 13 with One UI 5 interface and is expected to feature IP67 water resistance.
Prices
There’s no firm indication of pricing yet, but they’re likely to cost roughly the same as their predecessors, so the Galaxy A54 5G could be available for around 375 euros, while the Galaxy A34 5G should cost 285 euros. We expect these two smartphones to go global, but keep in mind that prices and specifications may vary. We just have to wait until January 18 to find out the other details of the Samsung Galaxy A34 and A54.
