After many rumors and leaks about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series of smartphones, the company has finally confirmed the date of its announcement. True, this happened, it seems, erroneously and prematurely, since the corresponding teaser appeared only on the website of the Colombian division of the corporation.
Judging by the image, the Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for February 1, 2023. Apart from this, there is no detailed information about the upcoming smartphones – the teaser only shows three rear camera sensors, which hint at new mobile shooting capabilities and the design of future devices. Note that this is how the cameras will be designed in all three flagship models: Galaxy S23, S23 +, and S23 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Series, technical characteristics
From what has been revealed it seems that the new Samsung smartphones will have an internal memory that will start from 256GB. Indiscretion which, obviously, is not confirmed but if it were true it would pave the way for the 512GB and 1TB versions of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
There is no information regarding the Standard and Plus models which could also have lower memory sizes available, starting from 128GB as happened for the previous S22. The leaked information also mentions the RAM which should be 8GB for the basic S23, while the Plus and Ultra models would even reach 12GB each.
In terms of processors, all versions of the S23 should mount the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which has now become the chip par excellence in the top of the range. The display should instead be a Super AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.
For the cameras, the rumors indicate different lenses according to the models: Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus should be able to count on a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP 3x zoom telephoto camera. On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 Ultra should have a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and two 10MP telephoto lenses (3x zoom and 10x zoom). As for the front camera, we are talking about a common 12MP lens.
From the information circulating on the net, an interesting fact concerns the video recording which should reach an 8K resolution at 30 fps. It also appears that all versions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be accompanied by software to improve the quality of images and videos, especially in low-light conditions.
As regards the battery compartment, the Galaxy S23 will be able to count on a 3900mAh battery, the S23+ on a 4700mAh one, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra should have a 5000mAh battery available. It also seems that the Ultra model will have the exclusive Samsung S Pen integrated inside it.
Finally, in terms of networks, obviously, all versions are 5G and it seems that they will also have satellite connectivity for emergencies.
