Today, a Redmi executive announced that they would release the Redmi K60 series on December 27. Moreover, they officially confirmed the early rumors as there wouldn’t be an e-sports version. The reason is that the Redmi K60, for instance, comes with a configuration that is sufficient to beat any gaming smartphone. In this regard, a Red Magic spokesperson said that not all smartphones could be called e-sports phones. Plus, he added that not all smartphones could surpass e-sports phones. In other words, Nubia thinks that gaming smartphones will still have popularity, and in this sense, the upcoming Red Magic 8 Pro has all chances to win the race.
The cooling
The Red Magic 8 Pro will sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. Also, it will have an ICE 11.0 magic cooling system. The latter will have internal extreme stacking high-speed centrifugal fans and three innovative heat dissipation structures. There will also be 3D ice-level double pump VC + full-through air duct + 10 layers of heat dissipation materials such as graphene under the screen.
By the way, the Red Magic 8 Pro will be the industry’s first 3D ice-level dual-pump VC liquid cooling handset, stuffed with the largest volume of cooling VC in the history of the Red Magic. The heat dissipation area will be up to 2068 cubic millimeters. Compared with traditional VC, the thermal conductivity has increased by 100%.
The battery
Today, from the promo posters, we also learned that the battery capacity would be 6000mAh. It will provide 47h of long battery life. This is the best endurance performance in the history of the Red Magic. They could reach such results due to the performance rhythm scheduling energy cube. Also, it will support 165W Magic Flash charging. According to the company, it only takes 14 minutes to fully charge.
In addition, Red Magic has also implemented full-link fast charging protection, using charging separation technology to avoid heating in a single area. Also, it reduces temperature rise through the parallel connection of three charge pumps.
The screen
We have previously said that the phone will be the world’s first under-screen flexible straight screen handset. The display is jointly customized with BOE. Due to the off-screen camera solution, its screen ratio reached 93.7%. The display also boasts ultra-narrow edges. The left and right borders are only 1.48mm.
The sound
In terms of sound effects, the company said that the Red Magic 8 Pro series has the best sound effects in the history of the Red Magic. It will come with 1115K+1216 ultra-linear stereo double speakers and a large sound chamber. The phone will provide 96kHz lossless sound quality and 48ms ultra-low latency, while the power consumption is reduced by 20 %.
The network
Another important feature of any modern smartphone is connectivity. The Red Magic 8 Pro series has the industry’s fastest Wi-Fi, 240MHz high-frequency concurrent HBS, which greatly reduces game delays. The high-frequency concurrent multi-link connection technology (HBS) can further improve throughput through multi-link combinations while supporting high-frequency bands.
In the 5GHz band, the HBS multi-link technology can be used to combine channels with an equivalent bandwidth of up to 240MHz, with a peak rate of 3.6Gbps.
Of course, the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology can achieve a 320MHz bandwidth channel in the 6GHz frequency band, reaching a peak rate of 4.3Gbps. However, Wi-Fi 7 technology is not popular yet. Plus, the 6GHz frequency band is temporarily unavailable in many regions.
In addition, the Red Magic 8 Pro series uses a game antenna matrix with nine antennas + intelligent switching in 4 directions. Players will not affect the 5G signal regardless of whether they hold it horizontally or vertically during the game.
The rest
As a reminder, the phone has passed TENAA. From the latter, we know that the Red Magic 8 Pro series has a body size of 163.98×76.35×8.9mm; the battery capacity will vary from model to model (5000mAh / 6000mAh); it will weigh 228 grams; on the front, it will carry a 6.8-inch OLED screen; the front-facing camera will have an 8-megapixel resolution; on the opposite side, we will find a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera combination.
We should also note that the Red Magic 8 Pro will come with the company’s self-developed Red Core R2 game chip. The latter precisely adjusts the control links such as shoulder keys, vibration, touch, and sound effects to achieve a multi-in-one, immersive control experience.
The Red Magic 8 Pro will debut on December 26.
