Nubia’s last flagship phone of this year is already out. The Nubia Z50 packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a built-in 5000mAh large battery, a 35mm lens, and the price starts at 2999 yuan ($430).
Camera
The key selling point of this handset is the camera. It uses a 64MP main IMX787 sensor with an F1.6 large aperture and supports OIS. The sensor is paired with a 50MP (Samsung S5KJN1, 116°) ultra-wide-angle macro lens. The dual-camera system also has a LED Ring flash. By the way, the selfie shooter has a 16MP resolution (OmniVision OV16A1Q).
The Nubia Z50 uses a multi-channel spectral sensor and the NeoVision environmental perception system. Due to them, the phone’s camera has a color reproduction accuracy of 35%. Plus, it has color adjustment capabilities. So the photos are more realistic and natural.
There are tons of software features making the camera of this handset truly outstanding. For instance, the camera supports ultra-sensitive focus tracking – no matter how the subject moves, it can track the focus accurately in real-time.
Performance
We already said that we have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip under the hood. It is accompanied by LPDDR5X memory and UFS4.0 flash storage. So we can say that the performance is at the top level. In terms of the system, the new MyOS 13 is pre-installed on the Nubia Z50.
There is also a 5000mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging. Thanks to a special power-saving technology, the battery life reaches 35.52 hours. Plus, it can remain in standby mode for 30 days.
The Nubia Z50 supports dual-card dual-pass of 5G network. It also uses multi-antenna switching, 360-degree surround design, and small headroom enhancement algorithm. The performance of mobile phone antennas has been improved by 50%.
Design
The Nubia has a gene of its predecessors. It also offers two material variants – glass and plain leather versions. The former is 8.46mm thick and weighs 199g, while the latter is 8.71mm thick and weighs 197g.
By the way, the Nubia Z50’s dual-camera cloud island design is inspired by dual-reflex cameras. The outer ring of the main camera lens is finished with diamond high-gloss CNC, and anodized by aviation-grade polymers.
Another highlight is the screen. The handset sports a 6.67-inch 2400×1080 AMOLED curved screen. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz smart sampling rate, Visionox double tripod arrangement, micro-prism design, 1000 nits of peak brightness, 10bit color depth, and the screen has also obtained UL’s platinum level hardware low blue light certification.
