A month earlier, Nubia confirmed that the upcoming Red Magic 8 Pro would be the world’s first gaming smartphone sporting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. At the moment, the device has opened an appointment on JD, of which the listing page shows that the handset will go live on December 26. This is a good hint at a launch date.
Before this, the Red Magic 8 Pro appeared on TENAA. From the latter, we learned that it would have a 6.8-inch OLED straight screen with an under-screen fingerprint scanner. At the same time, the display will have a resolution of 1116*2480 pixels.
Besides this, we also saw that the device would adopt a transparent back cover design. Through it, you can see the second-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship chip inside. Plus, we can clearly see its heat dissipation turbofan and other components.
Much earlier, we heard that our protagonist would have a 16MP under-screen camera. Generally, this brand has been the first to bring such a solution to large masses. Currently, several ZTE Axon line models use such technology. So it’s not surprising that this gaming handset will come with a similar camera.
In addition, this machine will come with a 50-megapixel main camera accompanied by an 8-megapixel lens and a 2-megapixel lens. The built-in 5000mAh / 6000mAh dual-version battery will support up to 165W fast charging. The body measurements are 163.98 × 76.35 × 8.9mm, and the weight is 228g.
As for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is based on TSMC’s 4nm process, with a main frequency of 3.2GHz. Qualcomm claims that its CPU performance has increased by 35%, and power consumption has been reduced by 40%. It will bring up to 25% performance improvement and up to 45% energy efficiency improvement.
