Today was a big day for OPPO. It released two new folding screen smartphones. But if the OPPO Find N2 is a traditional horizontal folding screen smartphone, the OPPO Find N2 Flip is a clamshell smartphone.
OPPO Find N2 selling points
The OPPO Find N2 uses two types of materials. The plain black color option is made of leather, while the green and white variants are made of glass. Due to the AG frosting, the back cover can show different color changes according to the light change.
Also, this phone uses aerospace-grade materials to miniaturize the shape of the hinge. At the same time, the screen support frame is made of carbon fiber material. But this is not all – the company uses custom-made titanium alloy screws to further reduce weight. As a result, it weighs 233 grams, which is much lighter than many mainstream phones on the market. We are even not talking about the fact that this is the world’s lightest folding screen smartphone with such a design.
The OPPO Find N2 hinge is made of high-strength composite carbon fiber. It weighs less than half of the previous generation. But it also doubles the strength.
The internal screen is 7.1 inches and it uses the Samsung E6 OLED screen with a ratio of 8.4:9, a resolution of 1792*1920, 370PPI pixel density, and a global peak brightness of 1200 nits. On the other hand, the external screen is also made of Samsung E6 material. It comes with a size of 5.54 inches, 17.7:9 ratio, 2120*1080 resolution, 429PPI pixel density, and 100% P3 color gamut coverage. Both screens support 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the phone houses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. There is also a large 4520mAh battery, which supports 67W super flash charging.
Another selling point of the phone is the camera. It includes a Sony MX890 50-megapixel main lens with a 1/1.56-inch outsole, a Sony IMX581 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32-megapixel 2X telephoto lens. The shooter made for selfies has a 32-megapixel resolution.
At the same time, this device comes with the Mariana MariSilicon X 6nm image-specific NPU. It has an 18 trillion computing power. Due to it, the OPPO Find N2 supports 4K 30FPS video recording. Plus, there is the Hasselblad mobile imaging system.
The foldable is available in two storage variants. The 12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB models are priced at 7999 yuan and 8999 yuan ($1147 and $1290), respectively, and will go on sale on December 23.
OPPO Find N2 Flip
The OPPO Find N2 Flip comes in three colorways. This clamshell smartphone carries a 6.8-inch E6 material screen. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits of local peak brightness, P3 wide color gamut and HDR10+.
The 4300mAh battery supports 44W flash charging. Also, there is the Dimensity 9000+ flagship chip under the hood. Also, we are dealing with the industry’s first small folding phone that supports dual SIM and dual 5G.
On the opposite side, the OPPO Find N2 Flip has a small rectangular screen. It is 3.26 inches and can display various useful information, such as notifications, weather, photos, etc.
The main camera of the OPPO Find N2 Flip includes a 50-megapixel IMX890 super-sensitive outsole sensor. It is capable of taking outstanding photos in all light conditions. There is another sensor on the front, Sony IMX709. It cooperates with OPPO’s self-developed beauty algorithm to present a more natural and clear selfie performance. Plus, like the model above, this one comes with the Hasselblad ultra-clear image quality engine and Mariana MariSilicon X NPU.
The OPPO Find N2 Flip phone is priced at 5,999 yuan ($860) for 8GB+256GB, 6,399 yuan ($918) for 12GB+256GB, and 6,999 yuan ($1004) for 16GB+512GB. It is already available for booking and will start delivery on December 30.
