Though OPPO will host a new product launch conference tomorrow, today, it basically uncovered the products that will hit the market in a day. Among them, we should mention the new generation of OPPO AR smart glasses, called Air Glass 2. It uses the world’s first resin-diffractive optical waveguide lens developed by the company itself. The glasses weigh only 38g. We guess they are the lightest and thinnest binocular smart glasses in the world.
The size of the micro-optical machine is 40% smaller than that of the previous generation. You can customize it in three ways: flat light, myopia, and sunglasses. Due to them, you can perform prompt/voice translation, and it provides navigation/reminder as well as voice-to-text functions. It can help hearing-impaired people communicate more efficiently in their daily lives.
The Original OPPO Air Glass Specs
As a reference, in March of this year, the company released the OPPO Air Glass. The first generation adopts a monocular split solution. The customized frame can be adapted to various optical lenses. The main body weighs less than 30 grams, and the lens thickness is only 1.3mm. The lens uses thin and light diffractive waveguide technology to achieve an average eye-catching brightness of 1400 nits. The silicon-based Micro LED display with a single pixel of only 4 microns can reach a maximum brightness of 3 million nits. The self-developed Spark miniature optical machine is only the size of a coffee bean. In a tiny space of less than 0.5 cubic centimeters, there are five pieces of customized high-resolution anti-reflection optical glass. The latter can effectively improve light transmittance and reduce stray light interference.

In terms of performance, the OPPO Air Glass is equipped with the Snapdragon 4100 wearable device platform. With the portable charging base, the battery life can reach 10.5 hours. As for specific functions, the OPPO Air Glass supports weather, schedule reminders, speech inscriptions, real-time translation, and walking and cycling navigation.
There are four methods you can interact with the OPPO Air Glass. They include touch, voice, gesture, and head movement control. They allow users to freely choose their favorite interaction method according to their usage habits. By the way, the highly innovative head movement control allows users to open notifications just by gently bowing their heads. Just tilt your head slightly, and the notification can be put away.
There is a special mobile app allowing to interact with the glasses through smartphones.
