Design
The overall volume of the Xiaomi Sound Pro is much larger than that of the original Xiaomi Sound. It inherits the classic design while carrying out new upgrades, such as the theater-inspired dome design.
Unlike the Xiaomi Sound, the upper part of the Xiaomi Sound Pro is designed transparently, surrounded by colorful LED lamp beads. They can form a galaxy light effect. As you guess, it “understands” rhythm and will change colors accordingly.
In terms of acoustic configuration, the Xiaomi Sound Pro comes with seven acoustic units. This is the first Xiaomi product to have such a configuration. They include a 1.5-inch 3-unit full-range 5W speaker, 3-unit passive radiator, and a 4-inch low-frequency 40W speaker. They provide a shocking sound pressure of up to 91dB and support for 360° omnidirectional sound output.
The Xiaomi Sound Pro low-frequency speaker has a large amplitude of 16mm and a large volume of 0.9L. So it is capable of delivering high-precision sound and full-bodied bass.
Xiaomi Sound Pro Selling Points
It is worth mentioning that the Xiaomi Sound Pro is also tuned jointly with Harman and professionally tuned through HARMAN AudioEFX audio software.
At the same time, Xiaomi’s self-developed computing audio has been upgraded to version 2.0. It can optimize sound performance step by step at different volumes. Frequency division adjustment increases dynamic space, separates and optimizes audio separately, and human voice adaptively reduces low-frequency output and balances EQ retains the texture of the master tape. At the same time, the new Nightingale Algorithm 2.0 supports independent adjustment of sound effects.
With the blessing of Harman’s joint tuning and the new Xiaomi self-developed algorithm, the Xiaomi Sound Pro has obtained the “Excellent High-Fidelity Audio” certification from the China Audio Industry Association.
The speaker supports various connection methods. For instance, the speaker supports Xiaomi Miaobo, NFC music seamless relay, Bluetooth 5.1 (supports A2DP), 3.5mm Aux in wired connection, AirPlay2, and Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G).
Moreover, this speaker supports up to 8 expansions to create a whole-house audio system. Through Aux in, two stereos can be combined to make the audio experience more immersive.
Content and More
In terms of smart ecology, the Xiaomi Sound Pro has a built-in Xiao Ai voice assistant. So it can easily handle commands and supports voiceprint recognition. You can control more than 4,700 smart devices with simple commands.
Other than that, our protagonist has added two new timbres, Galaxy and Kapok. There is also the upgraded honey timbre, massive audio content, a new lossless music zone, and access to NetEase Cloud Music. Thus, even in terms of content, it offers tons of music and audio content.
There are built-in white noise atmosphere wallpapers. Plus, it supports “fire, ocean waves, forest, travel, and rain” sounds.
The Xiaomi Sound Pro is priced at 999 yuan ($144) and is now on sale through all channels.
