After the postponed launch, the Xiaomi Mi 13, along with MIUI 14, is already out. The entire series of flagship smartphones consists of two models – the vanilla version and the Pro version. Let’s start with the original model.
Design
The Xiaomi 13 uses a bright metal upright frame. On the top, it carries a 6.36-inch custom-made ultra-narrow straight screen. The three borders around the display are 1.61mm wide, while the chin is 1.82mm. As a result, we have a screen-to-body ratio of 93.3%. Other than that, the display uses Samsung’s E6 luminescent material. Its peak brightness is 1900 nits, while the power consumption is reduced by 22%. The display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, there are tons of advantages this screen comes with, but let’s stop here. Oh, and it still supports DC dimming.
The standard edition is available in four color variants: wilderness green, distant mountain blue, black, and white. Among them, the blue version adopts a technological nano-skin back cover. It can withstand ultraviolet, yellowing, erosion, and dirt. The other three models have a glass back covers. The thickness of the whole machine is 7.98mm, and the weight is 189g.
Going forward we’d like to mention that the Mi 13 also has five limited-edition custom colors. They are available in a single 12GB + 512GB storage variant, priced at 4,999 yuan ($718). Xiaomi has produced only 50,000 units, and each person is limited to 2 units.
Hardware and Camera
The Xiaomi Mi 13 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, LPDDR5X memory, and UFS 4.0 flash storage. The 4500mAh battery supports 67W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse charging. The phone comes with the company’s own battery management system.
In terms of imaging, the Xiaomi Mi 13 supports the “Leica Super Color Image.” Xiaomi and Leica jointly build a color database, conduct machine learning on millions of photos, and perform color model layouts for 4,700 scenes one by one.
There are three Leica professional lenses:
- Main camera | Leica professional optical lens with HyperOIS super optical image stabilization;
- Telephoto | Newly upgraded Leica telephoto lens with a 75mm classic focal length and an f/2.0 large aperture;
- Ultra-wide angle | a 120° wide viewing angle lens.
In addition, the Mi 13 supports IP68 dustproof and waterproof, and comes with two stereo speakers, NFC, infrared, etc.

- 8GB+ 256GB – 4299 yuan ($618);
