Xiaomi planned to announce its new Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro smartphones based on the latest version of the proprietary MIUI 14 user interface on December 1st. However, due to certain circumstances, the announcement was postponed and the new date remained a secret for Xiaomi fans for more than a week.
Now we know for sure that tomorrow on December 11 – the event will be taking place in China by 7 PM, there will be shown new devices and new firmware. However, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun shared new details on his page in the Weibo microblogging service.
MIUI 14 will be 86% smoother
Improvements and changes in MIUI 14 will affect not only the visual component, but the developers also paid a lot of attention to the Linux kernel, and the new version of MIUI will switch to a kind of “photon engine” (Photon Engine) with deep refinement at the level of the Linux kernel.
The official poster reveals that MIUI 14 will allow third-party apps to fully enter the “era of super speed”. We are used to the fact that each new version of Android and the proprietary interface becomes faster, but MIUI 14 should become 86% smoother, which is really impressive. In addition to improving performance, the developers paid attention to energy efficiency – which will increase by 16%.
Previously, one of the leading developers of MIUI, Jin Fan, focused on four main areas in which work was carried out: reducing the number of pre-installed applications, increasing the practical functions of the shell, new design, as well as an overall increase in smoothness, performance, and stability. We will learn more details tomorrow, during the presentation.
