Well, seems this story is approaching its end. The Xiaomi Mi 13 series was initially scheduled to come on December 1. But the company canceled the launch event and postponed it indefinitely. During these days, we have been getting more and more news concerning its selling points. We even thought they would never end. However, today, the company issued a statement saying that the rescheduled release date is December 11. Thus, the first Xiaomi phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will be announced in 4 days.
The series will include two models, at least initially. Apart from the vanilla variant, there will also be the Pro version. But we also know that the lineup will include the Mi 13 Ultra and the Mi 13X. If the former model is set to come next year, there is still no tweet about when the Mi 13X will become available.

Among the mentioned two models, the Pro will stand out due to a number of selling points. For instance, it will inherit the 1-inch outsole lens of the Mi 12S Ultra. This is the Sony IMX989 sensor jointly developed by Xiaomi and Sony. Moreover, its research and development expenses were $15 million. Each of the companies paid half. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are also confirmed to come with the Leica 75mm telephoto lens with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are also confirmed to sport a 75mm telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture and Leica imaging technology.
Screen and hardware
The vanilla version will come with a straight screen, while the Pro model will sport a curved screen. They will support a 120Hz refresh rate, use an AMOLED material, and have a peak brightness of 1900 nits. At the same time, the Pro version will have a 2K resolution. Regarding the frame around the screen, three sides have a width of 1.61mm and a width of 1.81mm at the widest point. In effect, the screen-to-body ratio reaches 93.3%.
As for hardware, both models will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The latter integrates the Adreno 740 GPU and will be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
The Xiaomi Mi 13 will feature a 4,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging support. Its sibling will come with a 4820mAh battery unit and 120W fast charging support. At the same time, they will support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. But this is not surprising, as the Xiaomi Mi 12 series came with identical charging solutions. Also, the Xiaomi 13 series devices will feature an IP68 rating.
Design
By the way, apart from the glass and leather variants, there should also be a ceramic version. But they will be arranged in the following way: the standard version will be available in glass and leather versions, while the Pro model will come in ceramic and leather variants. In this regard, although ceramics provide excellent grip and texture, their weight is significantly higher than the other two types. For users who don’t care about weight, it is definitely the best choice. But if you care about weight, it is recommended to choose glass or plain leather versions.
Due to various rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 13 series will cost more in comparison to the Mi 12.
