Apple is rumored to be working on a new model

Apple previously stopped selling the original HomePod speaker it introduced in 2017 worldwide in the spring of 2021, and the HomePod mini is currently Apple’s only smart speaker. But, the manufacturer is rumored to be working on a new model that’s said to be more like the original HomePod – which saw moderate demand due to its high price – in terms of size and audio performance, rather than a new smart speaker. The market launch could take place over the course of the next year.

Technical Specifications of HomePod mini

The technical basis of the HomePod mini is Apple’s S5 system chip, which, among other things, analyzes music to tune the sound reproduction in real-time. The HomePod mini also has Ultra Wideband support, which enables the playback of the music or podcast you are listening to or the transfer of an ongoing call to the smart speaker from the iPhone by moving it near the speaker.

With the intercom function, one HomePod mini can send a message to another HomePod mini, enabling the use of smart speakers as a kind of home phone system. In addition, Intercom messages also arrive as notifications on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods headphones, or CarPlay view.

This smart speaker is compact in size: it has a height of 84.3mm, a width of 97.9mm, and a weight of 345 grams. On top of the speaker is a surface for touch functions. Apple offers HomePod mini buyers a 6-month free trial period for the Apple Music music service upon purchase.
