Nubia is preparing to release a series of gaming smartphones Red Magic 8. The line will include two models: Red Magic 8 and Red Magic 8 Pro. These are supposed to be the first gaming smartphones based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Pro version, which was claimed to have model number NX729J last month, was found listed on China’s 3C certification platform. The device has now reportedly appeared in the database of the TENAA certification site. It seems the list has been deleted. However, several Weibo users have found it and shared details of the Red Magic flagship gaming phone.
Red Magic 8 Pro Specifications (TENAA)
The TENAA listing reveals that the Red Magic 8 Pro has a 6.8-inch OLED display that offers a resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels. The device is said to provide a full-screen experience due to its narrow bezels and lack of a punch hole. It measures 163.98 x 76.35 x 8.9mm and weighs around 228 grams.
As mentioned above, the Red Magic 8 Pro will be powered by the latest mobile platform, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is expected to arrive in various configurations, as it will offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Most likely, the gaming phone might be equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage to offer a great gaming experience.
In the camera section, the Red Magic 8 Pro will have three rear cameras with the main camera configuration of 50MP, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro. While the front camera has a resolution of 16MP.
Red Magic 8 Pro will come with 5720mAh/4900mAh battery models. According to the 3C listing of the device, it will offer fast charging up to 165W. It is expected to come pre-installed with the Android 13 operating system.
Appearance on 3C and TENAA certification, it seems likely that the Red Magic flagship gaming phone will go official in late December 2022 or early January 2023. However, The launch date for the Red Magic 8 line has not yet been announced.
