We have heard that Google was working on a folding screen smartphone, namely the Pixel Fold. However, there is still no specific launch date for the phone. But it appears in various leaks regularly. Today was one such day. It was spotted in the Geekbench benchmark platform.
The phone’s codename is Google Felix. It scored 1047 points in the single-core test and 3257 points in the multi-core test. The screenshot shows that the device runs the Android 13 system and is equipped with 12GB of memory. Plus, the chip parameters hint at the Tensor G2 processor. It is not much different from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.
Before this, FrontPageTech released a large number of renders of the Google Pixel Fold. Plus, the source disclosed some specs of the handset. The machine is expected to have two colors, Chalk (white) and Obsidian (black), priced at up to $1,799. Thus, it is identical to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in terms of price. Lastly, this source is tentatively scheduled for May 2023. The Pixel Pad should debut at the same time.
The Google Pixel Fold will continue “Pixel-style performance” and “Pixel-like” flagship camera. Judging from the picture, the Pixel Fold’s “camera strip” will not be as wide as that of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, at least not extending all the way to the edge. This model will feature two 9.5MP front-facing lenses. One will be in the hole on the outer screen, and the other on the right side of the top bezel of the inner screen.
In terms of screens, the Google Pixel Fold should use Samsung screens. There will be internal and external screens, so there is every reason to think it will be an inward-folding smartphone. The resolution of the internal folding screen will be 1840×2208, and its size is 123mm×148mm. The peak brightness will reach 1200 nits, the average brightness will be 800 nits, and it may support a 120Hz high refresh rate.
