The Xiaomi 13 series was delayed due to the death of former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin yesterday. In the previous days, the technical features and design of the smartphone were shared through several sources. However, in the information that came out today, new details about the technical characteristics of the Xiaomi 13 series have emerged.
According to the source, smartphones will come with 8 or 12GB of RAM and a drive of 128, 256, or 512GB. Entry-level versions with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of ROM will be equipped with UFS 3.1 memory, while more advanced models use UFS 4.0 memory. As for RAM, all versions of new Xiaomi smartphones use LPDDR5X.
It is reported that both smartphones will come in several body color options, one of which will be released in a limited edition. Users will be able to choose between black and white body options, as well as leather back and glass back options.
Xiaomi 13 Series Other specifications
As we have seen in previous reports, the Xiaomi 13 will have a 6.36-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. The latter has the particularity of being flat and offering the thinnest borders ever seen on a smartphone. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, is larger, with a 6.73-inch QHD+ 120Hz LTPO 3.0 curved screen. Both promise to be extremely bright, peaking at 1900 nits. They use Samsung’s E6 OLED technology, which promises greater energy efficiency.
In this regard, the Xiaomi 13 has a 4500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro relies on 120W power and a 4820mAh battery. Xiaomi already claims that its smartphones are even more self-sufficient than Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max.
From a photographic point of view, both smartphones are equipped with 3 sensors. The Xiaomi 13 Pro inherits the 50MP 1-inch IMX989 main sensor from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. It is accompanied by a JN1 ultra-wide-angle lens and a JN1 telephoto lens that offers 3.26X optical zoom. The latter is optically stabilized and can also capture macro shots.
The Xiaomi 13 uses a 50MP IMX800 main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP Samsung S5K3K1 telephoto lens (the same as the Galaxy S22) with optical stabilization and 3.2X zoom. The smartphone finally abandons the macro sensor which was not very useful. Finally, we can note that Xiaomi has upgraded the front sensor with a 32MP RGBW IMX709 camera, which will finally improve the selfies of the smartphone. These have often been criticized by previous generations.
