This month, many major smartphone makers launched new devices. Today is OPPO’s turn. The company released the OPPO Reno9 series of new smartphones. The series includes three models – the vanilla variant, the Pro model, and the Pro+ model. They will start shipping on December 2.
OPPO Reno9
- The 8GB+256GB version is priced at 2499 yuan ($350);
- The 12GB+256GB version is priced at 2699 yuan ($378);
- The 12GB+512GB version is priced at 2,999 yuan ($420).
OPPO Reno9 Pro
- The 16GB+256GB version is priced at 3499 yuan ($490);
- The 16GB+512GB version is priced at 3799 yuan ($532).
OPPO Reno9 Pro+
- The 16GB+256GB version is priced at 3,999 yuan ($560);
- The 16GB+512GB version is priced at 4399 yuan ($616).
All 3 products of the OPPO Reno9 series use the same 6.7-inch large screen. It comes with consistent and accurate colors, the same high refresh rate of 120Hz, and a more comfortable natural dimming solution, achieving 8192-level brightness adjustment.
The OPPO Reno9 series supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming at low brightness below 90nit, making the strobe less noticeable. The screen has a 3D hyperboloid micro-arc. It has the narrowest chin in the industry, reaching 2.32mm.
The OPPO Reno9 is the next step in the company’s history of bringing a slim body and long battery life simultaneously. The OPPO Reno9 and OPPO Reno9 Pro have a body thickness of 7.19mm and a weight of 174g; the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ has a body thickness of 7.99mm and a weight of 192g.
The OPPO Reno9 uses 67W flash charging and has a built-in 4500mAh battery; the OPPO Reno9 Pro uses 67W flash charging and has a built-in 4500mAh battery; the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ uses 80W flash charging and has a built-in 4700mAh battery.
The OPPO Reno9 series has the company’s self-developed image-specific NPU chip – Mariana MariSilicon X. As an image-specific NPU, it can perceive the world like the human eye and the human brain. It can recognize the distance of objects in the image, just like our brain.
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The Pro models come with up to 16GB+512GB storage combination.
The OPPO Reno9 Pro sports the Dimensity 8100-MAX chip, while the OPPO Reno9 comes with the Snapdragon 778G chip.
All three models run on the ColorOS 13 supercomputing platform. At the same time, all three models come with universal infrared remote control, full-scene NFC, and a 360° smart antenna.
Regarding imaging, the Reno9 has a 32-megapixel super-sensitive lens on the front and, a 64-megapixel primary camera + a 2-megapixel black-and-white lens on the rear. The Reno 9 Pro comes with a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera.
