Earlier this year, in March, Xiaomi’s sub-brand released the POCO X4 series of smartphones. Recently, we heard that the follow-up model is on the way. The POCO X5 5G has already passed a few certifications, such as BIS and FCC. Thus, it will be released shortly.
The FCC documents show that the upcoming POCO X5 5G will use a rectangular camera module. Inside, the phone will hide a 4900mAh battery. Apart from this, we can see that the new model will support dual-band WiFi (5GHz + 2.4GHz) and many bands in the 5G network, including n5, n7, n38, n41, n77, and n78. Of course, our protagonist will run the MIUI 14 system.
When a phone spots on a certification website, we immediately mark the model numbers. This helps us to compare it with other model numbers in other authority websites and collect information about the upcoming handsets. The POCO X5 5G is no exception. The model number of the Indian version of POCO X5 5G is 22101320I. So once you find it in other databases, just know that this is the phone we are talking about. Also, the POCO India head has hinted at a new phone, which could be the upcoming X5 5G.
A #pocofan shared this with me. This is false, BTW 🙃
We have something better planned. Stay tuned 😉 https://t.co/2I56TZXPWb

Before this, the phone was leaked into the IMEI database. The phone is expected to launch in the Chinese market as a Redmi model with model number 22101320C. The last letters in the model number show the country they are designed for.
We should also say that the POCO X5 5G is codenamed “Redwood.” The latter will come with a 120Hz refresh rate LCD panel and a Snapdragon 778G Plus processor.
As a reference, the POCO X4 Pro 5G came with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. The latter also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, we found a Snapdragon 695 processor and a built-in 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Lastly, the rear camera had a 108MP resolution.
