Usually, we recognize brands by their flagship phones. But more frequently, their best-selling models are not those flagships. Though they show their potential and strength through high-end models, mid-rangers and low-end handsets sell better. This is also true for OPPO. Its A-line handsets are among the best entry-level devices. And today’s A-family smartphone is no exception. As a new product of the OPPO A series, the OPPO A58 5G smartphone is now officially on sale. It has 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, priced at 1,699 yuan ($239).
From the official photos, we can see that the OPPO A58 adopts a right-angle body design. On the front, a 6.56-inch LCD screen supports 1612×720 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Though the resolution is not what we’d like to see, the refresh rate is high. Many mid-rangers, for example, from Google, support just a 60Hz refresh rate. At the same time, there are three colorways you can choose from. They are Blue, Starry Black, and Breeze Purple. Thus, the company is offering colors that match young customers’ tastes.

Well, internally, the phone looks quite attractive. For instance, the OPPO A58 is equipped with a Dimensity 700 processor. This is a low-end chip that has proven its good performance. Of course, you can’t play heavy games. But for daily tasks, its power is sufficient. The battery capacity is 5000mAh, which is common for low-end models in this segment. The battery supports 33W charging.
In terms of connectivity, the phone supports dual-SIM, dual-standby dual-mode 5G. So we can say it’s among the cheapest 5G phones.
Lastly, there OPPO A58 has an 8-megapixel front camera. The rear camera includes a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens. It supports AI scene enhancement, RGB color retention video, ultra-clear night scenes, portrait mode, and other imaging functions.
