At the time, Huawei was very active in the Western markets, including the US and Europe. It even had R&D laboratories that were working on the innovations. Unfortunately, the US gov decided to block airflow for Huawei. As a result, it began creating its core hardware and software from scratch. But nothing lasts forever.
