In mid-November, Qualcomm will uncover the next-generation flagship SoC, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Xiaomi will be the first company to launch a smartphone with this chip onboard, at least in China. As you guess, we are talking about the Xiaomi Mi 13 series.
Xiaomi Mi 13 will come with MIUI 14 out of the box
Today, xiaomiui said that the system versions of the Xiaomi Mi 13 code-named “Fuxi” and the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro code-named “Nvwa.”
The system version of the Xiaomi Mi 13 is V14.0.2.0.TMCCNXM, while the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro system version is V14.0.2.0.TMBCNXM. We see that both models will run the yet-to-be-announced MIUI 14 system from these two. It is a customized skin based on Android 13.
We have heard that the Xiaomi Mi 13 series will officially debut a week after the release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Based on this, the conference will most likely be on November 22/23/24.
MIUI 14 will usher in a major upgrade in terms of functions. It has large folders and card modes that can facilitate user operation and desktop beautification. At the same time, MIUI 14 will upgrade other functions, such as weather, calendar, and clock. Users can operate directly on the desktop, reducing secondary operation steps.
Other than that, MIUI 14 will feature three major functions: no ads, no pre-installation, and no notifications. In addition, the system UI, fluency, and stability have been optimized and upgraded.
Earlier this week, we saw high-def renders of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 13/13 Pro. They are different from the previous generation. The former has a 6.2-inch straight screen + vertical frame shape, whereas the latter comes with a 6.6-inch curved screen. Both have rounded, rectangle-shaped triple camera setups. As you know, the camera of the Pro will be one of the biggest highlights of this phone. The latter will use the IMX989 sensor, jointly developed by Sony and Xiaomi. This is the same lens we found on the Mi 12s Ultra.
