We guess you remember that last month, VIVO launched the iQOO Neo 7. The latter comes with the most powerful Android chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+. Also, it’s the only Dimensity 9000+ direct-screen flagship in the niche. Due to its cost-effective positioning, the phone could exceed 200 million yuan ($24.35 million) in sales in one minute. Now, according to iQOO’s product line layout, in addition to iQOO Neo7, the iQOO Neo series will also launch an SE version, i.e., iQOO Neo7 SE.
Today, a Weibo blogger said that the iQOO Neo7 SE might debut in December. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 flagship processor and support 120W wired flash charging.
As for the chip, the Dimensity 8200 uses TSMC’s 4nm process, and the CPU frequency exceeds 3.0GHz. At the same time, it integrates some features of the Dimensity 9000 series flagship processors, such as AI. However, we should point out that this is a mid-range chip, not a flagship one.
As we all know, Dimensity 9000 integrates MediaTek’s fifth-generation AI processor, APU590. It is designed with an energy-efficient AI architecture. The latter is four times higher than the previous generation in performance and energy efficiency.
This means that the AI performance of the Dimensity 8200 will be greatly improved. It can use powerful AI computing power to perform real-time noise reduction and high dynamic range compensation for each picture frame. So the captured picture will not only be brighter as a whole, but at the same time, the details will be clearer.
In terms of benchmark scores, in AnTuTu, the Dimensity 8100 has reached 800,000 points. This is on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. Thus, our protagonist is positioned as an upper mid-range smartphone. If you want something better, the iQOO 11 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 onboard is on the road.
