Xiaomi entered the premium smartphone market a couple of years ago. Earlier this year, the company launched the Xiaomi Mi 12S and the MIX Fold 2 as frontrunners of the company. However, we are all waiting for this brand’s new generation of the annual flagship. The Xiaomi Mi 13 is not going to boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 only. There are plenty of highlights this phone will show off.
What a Chinese leaker said today is on par with the previous leaks. For instance, he confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 13 is in the tests. It seems there is nothing odd with this statement. But the thing is that Xiaomi has started testing the upcoming flagship phone two months earlier than the previous generation.
However, the new generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chip will not be released until November. Thus, there is still a lot of time for Xiaomi to polish it.
Surprisingly, the front-facing camera of the handset will come with surprises. There is still no concrete information concerning its parameters, but we know that it will use a punch-hole screen.
At the moment, we only know that the Xiaomi Mi 13 will be one of the first smartphones to sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The chip will adopt a new “1+2+2+3” octa-core architecture design, of which the super core will be upgraded to Cortex X3. Thus, it will have a 22% better performance than the Cortex X2. The large core will be upgraded to the Cortex A715. Compared with the Cortex A710, the performance is improved by 5%, and the energy efficiency is improved by 20%.
The phone will also come with a 120W wired fast charging solution. Thus, Xiaomi has heard the complaints of the Mi fans concerning the 67W charging of the previous generation.
