We have already talked about two new products launched by Honor at today’s conference. Now, it’s the right time to talk about the new Honor MagicBook X series of notebooks. The 2022 version includes X14 and X16. The price starts at 4999 yuan ($672).
MagicBook X 14 / 16 Specs and Price
The Honor MagicBook X 14 2022 sports a 14-inch 2.2K screen with an 88% high screen ratio, 100% sRGB high color gamut, and 16:10 golden screen display ratio. Of course, like many other Honor laptops, it has an eye protection certification.
This model is also as thin as 15.9mm and as light as 1.34kg. It comes with a metal cover. Under the hood, this laptop hosts a built-in 60Wh large battery.
In its turn, the Honor MagicBook X 16 2022 has a 16-inch full screen with an 89% screen ratio, 100% sRGB high color gamut, and 16:10 golden screen display ratio. Due to its larger size, it can carry an independent numeric keypad and a large-size directional keyboard. The battery capacity remains unchanged at 60Wh.
As for hardware, the Honor MagicBook X series 2022 sports up to 12th generation Intel Core standard pressure processor. The latter adopts a performance core and hybrid CPU architecture design. There are 12 cores and 16 threads. The laptops also have an innovative antenna design that ensures a faster file download and lower latency for webcasting. The maximum storage is 512GB solid state drive, plus, you can expand it to 1TB through a solid state drive expansion.
MagicBook V 14 2022 Key Specs
Last year, when Honor released the MagicBook V 14 notebook, its biggest selling point was the 5-megapixel ultra-high-definition dual-camera lens. Today, the company upgraded the line launching the MagicBook V 14 2022 version. It not only inherited the dual-camera lens, but also upgraded the overall configuration to support a 2.5 K 90Hz high-refresh-rate screen, 12th-generation Intel Core processor, and comes with Honor’s exclusive optimization technology, namely OS Turbo.
Compared with the previous generation, the fuselage of the Honor MagicBook V 14 2022 is smaller and thinner. Also, now, it comes with an aviation-grade aluminum alloy material, and it uses forging and CNC technology to create a delicate and stylish metal texture. The weight is only 1.48kg, and the thickness is 14.5mm.
The Honor MagicBook V 14 2022 sports a high resolution of 2.5K (2520×1680). The entire system adopts a 14.2-inch mirror screen design, which comes with a 3:2 screen ratio, 90.5% ultra-high screen ratio, 400nits high brightness, and supports 1.07 billion colors, 90Hz high refresh rate, etc.
In addition, it also supports high-precision ten-point touch. You can click and slide the screen to complete various operations. With the Windows 11 operating system, three-finger gestures can quickly switch windows, and four-finger gestures can easily switch between different desktops
On the front lens, the MagicBook V 14 2022 still uses Honor’s unique 5MP high-definition wide-angle dual camera that comes with 5 million photosensitive units, 1440P resolution, etc. In effect, it captures photos that have a resolution 4 times that of ordinary HD imaging resolution. The camera also supports 90° ultra-wide-angle shooting.
The secondary camera is an IR infrared camera to realize face unlock. It only takes 1.8 seconds to unlock in the dark.
Inside, this laptop sports Intel’s latest 12th-generation Core standard-pressure processor (up to i7-12700H processor (independent display)), and up to NVIDIA GeForce MX550 discrete graphics card. There is also 16GB DDR5-4800 memory and 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD hard drive, of which the SSD read speed can reach 6GB/s. In other words, you will be able to load large files and games instantly.
With Honor’s new f8 wing-shaped large-diameter dual heat pipe cooling system, the MagicBook V 14 2022’s CPU performance can be released up to 50W. At the same time, the noise is controlled at 22 decibels.
As said, this laptop also comes with its own OS Turbo optimization technology. The software and hardware collaboration capabilities go deep into the PC firmware layer, system layer, and application layer.
It also uses the Magic Live intelligent engine to intelligently identify user scenarios and release hardware performance more efficiently to achieve better performance, lower power consumption, and longer battery life in the same scenario.
In other aspects, the MagicBook V 14 2022 also supports Honor Share. The latter allows users to access various files on different Honor products instantly.
The 60Wh large battery gets its energy from the 100W gallium nitride fast charging head and through the Thunderbolt 4 interface.

All these models will start shipping on September 22.
