Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 200MP Sensor

Samsung usually unveils its latest premium smartphones alongside an Unpacked event around January or February. Earlier this year, Samsung made the decision to merge its Note range with the top-end Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra model. However, according to the generally reliable leaker @IceUniverse, we can expect a real leap forward in terms of the set of photo sensors.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: which 200MP sensor?

According to him, the main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will have the famous 200MP sensor (the HP2 version and not HP3, according to the latest rumors) from 1/3 ” (and not from 1″), with pixels from 0.6 μm and F1.7 aperture.

Do not believe any imaginary news, everything is subject to me.
100% confirmed, S23 Ultra main camera:

The leaker briefly compares these features to the iPhone 14 Pro, stating that the new 200MP sensor will be only slightly larger than the 48MP one mounted on apple’s archenemy. The question is not exactly clear, because Apple has not officially declared the size of the sensor on its new devices, but according to an analysis of the well-known photography site DPReview, the main sensor of the iPhone 14 Pro is 1 / 1.28 “, so in reality slightly larger than that hypothesized by Ice Universe on Samsung Galaxy S23.

In any case, the leaker speculates how this sensor will be smaller than the sensors that will be mounted on the top of the Android range of 2023, and certainly smaller than the one mounted on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. As proof of these predictions, Ice Universe reports that the S22 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra have the same thickness and the same design for the rear cameras, which would make it impossible to use a much larger main sensor, not to mention the 1-inch ones.

In a world where the photographic characteristics of smartphones now have a prominent and almost absolute value, as indicated by a video of the same Samsung against the new iPhone 14 (published before the announcement), the wait for the cameras of the next Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is certainly very high, so much so that other features such as processor or type of display are almost in the background.

We will see if Ice Universe is right, but we do not doubt that in the coming months/weeks there will be more and more previews of the new tops of the Korean giant.
