Yesterday, Qualcomm announced two new chips for the low-end segment. We are talking about the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processors. We also learned that the first terminals with the latter will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of this year, while the phones powered by the former will appear on the market in early 2023. Today, iQOO issued a statement, saying that it will release the new iQOO Z6 Lite in India on September 14. And this is going to be the world’s first smartphone starring the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1.

In terms of CPU, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 consists of two A78 large cores and six A55 small cores. In addition, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 CPU is still developed based on the ARM v8 instruction set. The display unit supports a 1080P resolution 120Hz screen, an integrated X62 5G baseband (2.9 Gbps), and an integrated FastConnect 6700 connection unit.
The official poster shows that the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 uses a 6nm process, the highest frequency is 2.0GHz, the CPU performance is increased by 18.4%, and the GPU performance is increased by 6.9%. In AnTuTu, this SoC scores over 388,486. Thus, this is a classic entry-level smartphone. But we must mention that it is better than the competing MediaTek Dimensity 700 and its sibling Snapdragon 680.
The iQOO Z6 Lite comes with a 120Hz water drop screen, supports 5G networks, and has a rear rectangular image module. The two cameras are independently placed in two rings. In addition to the secondary camera, the lower ring also has a fake camera. The opening is marked with the “5G” logo.
With the launch of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 4 Gen 1 chips, Qualcomm won’t allow MediaTek to have absolute dominance in the low-end niche.
