Last night, at IFA 2022, ASUS released a few amazing products in the laptop category. Among them, what caught our eyes was the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED folding screen notebook. This amazing product costs 3,699 euros, and it will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter.
In fact, the company introduced the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold at CES 2022. At that time, we learned that this was the world’s first 17.3-inch foldable OLED laptop with a screen supplied by BOE.
The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold features a large 17.3-inch screen, which boasts a 4:3 aspect ratio, a 2.5K resolution, and of course, supports touchscreen operations. It folds in the middle to create two 12.5-inch 3:2 1920×1280 displays. The display is also certified by TÜV Rheinland. Thus, it supports eye protection mode and comes with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and Dolby Vision HDR certification. You can use it with the Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad for a regular typing experience.
Well, we understand that for a folding screen product, the display is the biggest highlight. But we are dealing with a laptop. We mean that it’s not difficult to guess that you will do some work on it. Therefore, besides the screen, it should also have powerful hardware.
In terms of configuration, the laptop is equipped with the latest 12th-generation Intel Core U-series processors. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Inside, we can find a 75Wh battery.
Also, the Zenbook 17 Fold features a Dolby Atmos four-speaker Harman Kardon-certified sound system, a high-definition infrared camera, Windows Hello support, and a new Intel Vision Sensing controller chip that supports user presence detection and more.
The price we talked about above refers to the i7-1250U processor variant, which is also accompanied by 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD.
Do you think 3699 euros for such a configuration is too expensive?
