Just a few weeks after the One UI 5 beta program for the Galaxy S22 was launched, now Samsung has officially released the latest beta based on Android 13 for the Galaxy S21 series. The One UI 5.0 beta update has now started rolling out to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra users in South Korea and the UK.
As always, beta installation starts from the Samsung Members app. Users must register their phones to switch to the beta channel. They can then install the new version, run tests and report the various existing bugs.
The One UI 5 interface on the Galaxy S21 is expected to be pretty much the same as the one that was made available on the Galaxy S22, meaning the update is based on Android 13 and brings several improvements, and new features, to the device.
Samsung could soon open the One UI 5 beta program for the Galaxy S21 series in other markets, including China, Germany, India, Poland, and the US. It is expected that Samsung’s high-end smartphones will receive the stable Android 13 update after some beta releases at the end of 2022.
Expected Features of One UI 5 Beta
The Android 13-based One UI 5 beta update is expected to bring most of the new and improved features we saw on the Galaxy S22 series. Some of those features include an improved Color Palette feature, stacked widgets, minor notification design changes, improved privacy and security, Samsung DeX UI improvements, better multitasking gestures, and the OCR feature in the camera and Gallery apps.
