The release of iOS 16 is only two weeks away, and final beta testing is progressing. Apple today released iOS 16 beta 8 to developers with a continued focus on bug fixes, performance improvements, and final optimizations for things like battery life and new features.
iOS 16 beta 8 Is Now Available
iOS 16 beta 8, build 20A5358a, is available to download now for registered developers through the Settings app. Open the Settings app, choose General, then choose Software Update. As usual, the update may take a few minutes to appear for all live beta testers. We expect a new public beta this afternoon. The update size is about 222MB.
It is always important to point out that you have to be careful when installing betas on devices that you are used to using daily — after all, we are talking about potentially unstable systems for which most apps are not yet optimized.
Launch of iOS 16 Final Version
As a reminder, the final version of iOS 16 should normally arrive sometime in September. Apple has already announced that there will be a keynote on September 7. This will be an opportunity to discover the iPhone 14 and the Apple Watch Series 8.
The manufacturer will also give the release dates for its software updates. It is not impossible that the final version of iOS 16 will land on September 14 if we are based on Apple’s habits, but this remains to be confirmed.
