Huawei Mate 50 Series Would Come With a 50MP Main Sensor

The Huawei Mate 50 series is now closer than ever and we notice it in the leaks that come and go, giving us more information about what this team will be like. A Weibo leaker once again shares something we didn’t know.

The report comes from the renowned Digital Chat Station, confirming that the Mate 50 line will have a 50-megapixel main camera on the back. The new image sensor will have a size of 1/1.5 inches and is reportedly the Sony IMX766 sensor. In addition, the new higher-end Mate 50 Pro will also have variable aperture technology.

The Mate 50 series will also have a telephoto lens with 3x, 3.5x, and a 5x telephoto zoom lens, Sony IMX688 sensor, and OV64B sensor, along with the Sony IMX766 main camera as well. For now, this is all the information shared by the leaker and more details regarding the upcoming series still remain a secret. Therefore, we will have to wait for the official announcement to find out more.

Huawei Mate 50 series certified by 3C

3C has certified three models of the Huawei Mate 50 series, which are said to be the Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design. They are rated to support charging speeds up to 66W (11V/6A) as well as 10W (5V/2A) and 40W (10V/4A).

In another report from Digital Chat Station via Weibo, there is information about the Huawei Mate 50E model that will be equipped with Snapdragon 778G. Meanwhile, the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro are said to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

According to My Drivers sourcing, the Huawei Mate 50 series will only use 4G connectivity technologies. They would come with the newest stable version of HarmonyOS 3.0.

Earlier this week, Huawei announced that it will hold a launch event of the Mate 50 series on September 6. Huawei may also unveil the 12.4-inch MatePad Pro at the event.
